Day 3 – Touring Seoul with some IU Jacobs School of Music Alumni!

Today, March 19, the IU Jacobs School of Music Orchestra had a private tour, hosted by the IU Jacobs School of Music South Korean Alumni. The tour was led by IU Jacobs School of Music alumnus and president of the Jacobs School of Music Korean Chapter President, Jaeun Koo (B.M., ’85, M.M., ’87, Artist Diploma, ’88 – Piano). It was an amazing opportunity for students and alumni alike. Both new friends and new memories were made. The day began with our group opening the local newspaper to this:

What a welcome!

… and it just got better from there – if you can believe it! The weather was perfect for a tour of this amazing city. We first visited the┬áSoBukchon Hanok Village, then we toured the Kyungbok Palace, had lunch with our alumni friends at Han-il-kwan, and had a chance to partake in a little shopping at Insa-dong. Then, the ensemble visited the National Museum of Korea and finished the day with yet another amazing dinner at San-chae-jib. The South Korean IU Jacobs School of Music Alumni were so warm and welcoming. They planned an absolutely amazing day for our group. Here are a few photos from the day:
