Tonia Ko has won second prize in the 25th Annual Young Composer’s Competition at Austin Peay State University with her work Wanderer Moon for voice and chamber orchestra. |
Matthew Peterson’s Hyperborea for orchestra and Jonn Sokol’s Gradient : Waves for chamber orchestra were recently awarded two of three “honorable mentions” for the 2012 ASCAP Nissim Prize. The top prize went to Gene Koshinski for his marimba concerto, and Ted Hearne was the other honorable mention. |
IU faculty, composers and alums will have works performed at the SEAMUS 2012 National Conference at Lawrence University this February. Current students Felix Stone, Steve Snethkamp, Josh Groffman, alumni Iddo Aharony, Neil Thornack, Eric Simonsen, David Werfelmann and Professors Jeffrey Hass and John Gibson all had works accepted. |
