Distinguished conductor David Griggs-Janower passed away on Sunday, August 25 at the age of 60. An alumnus of the the Indiana University School of Music, David earned his Doctor of Music degree in conducting, studying under Dr. Julius Herford, Fiora Contino, and Margaret Hillis. He also completed a degree in music theory and music history from Cornell University.
For over 30 years, David served as the Director of Choral Music and Professor at the University at Albany, State University of New York. He was the Founding Conductor and Artistic Director for the choral group Albany Pro Musica.
