Grad Jessie Thoman appointed Assistant Professor at U Tennessee Martin

Indiana University Jacobs School of Music graduate (DM, 2006) Jessie Thoman (www.jessiethoman.com), has become the new Assistant Professor of Horn and Music History at the University of Tennessee, Martin.  Thoman is very excited to join the great faculty of this thriving music school.  Jessie will be teaching studio horn, all things music history, chamber music, Fearlessness, and laughing.  Dr. Thoman will be moving from her position as Instructor of Horn at University of Nevada, Reno.  Jessie studied with Jeff Nelsen and will continue in her role as Assistant Director of his “Fearless Performance for Musicians” summer seminar.  Prior to completing her doctoral degree at IU Jacobs School of Music, Jessie attended The Ohio State University (MM, MA – 2000) and the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam (BM in Music Education – 1997).  Jessie will also be continuing as the horn player in the highly successful Mirari Brass (www.miraribrass.com) touring all over the United States performing recitals and masterclasses.
