Jessica Lipstone wins James and Helen Pellerite Flute Scholarship competition

Jessica Lipstone has won the annual James and Helen Pellerite Flute Scholarship competition. She is a junior from Los Angeles, Calif., studying with Thomas Robertello.

James Pellerite, born in 1926, enjoyed many years of professional orchestral experience. This scholarship, established in 2006, is intended to encourage flute students to become immersed in the orchestral literature of flute.

Each year, the Jacobs School of Music flute faculty holds an audition that mimics professional orchestra auditions to select a recipient for the Pellerite Flute Scholarship.
