Jacobs School alumni, former students of Carlos Montane, continue to thrive in European opera houses

Four Jacobs School alumni, and former students of Carlos Montane, are currently excelling in various roles in Europe and around the world.

Tenor Fabiano Cordeiro ended a series of performances of Turiddu in “Cavalleria Rusticana” with the opera house in the city of Lubeck, Germany, and on February 28 will continue his series of performances in Germany as Don Jose, in Bizet’s “Carmen” with the opera house in the city of Aachen.

In May, soprano Nadja Michael will play Eboli in Verdi’s “Don Carlo” with the Hamburg Opera, and Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s “Macbeth” with the Bayerische National Theater in Munich. In June she will perform the role of Marie in “Wozzeck” in Madrid, and in July she will return to Munich to reprise her role in “Macbeth”.

In February, soprano Melanie Diener performed as Isolde in “Tristan and Isolde” with the Toronto Opera. In July, she will perform as Elizabeth in “Tannhauser” in Bogota, Colombia, and in September as Sieglinde in “Die Walkure” in Bucharest, Romania.

Tenor Matthias Klink just performed the role of Ferrando in “Cosi Fan Tutte” at the opera house in Koln, Germany. In May and June he will perform the role of Tristan in “Le Vin Herbe” with the Berlin Opera.
