We are going to start a student section of the Audio Engineering Society this Spring semester! Indiana University already has an established presence at the AES. JSoM students participate in AES recording competitions and faculty members Konrad Strauss and Travis Gregg have been published in the AES Journal. All students are encouraged to research the benefits of joining the AES as a student member and consider holding an office or committee chair. The unique opportunity to become a founding member or officer is a great benefit to any academic/professional career. The AES is the ONLY professional society exclusively for audio engineers.
The cost to join as a student is $35 per year and you can join online. We will need 10 paid members to begin. The startup process is pretty simple. “How To Run A Section” contains descriptions of the offices and their roles in the AES Student Chapter.
If you have any questions or interest in holding an office please email Fallon.
