Musical Scores

Cordero composed his "Second Symphony" for a contest sponsored by the Second Festival of Latin American Music (Caracas, 1957).

"Violin Concerto" (1962) by Roque Cordero. Commissioned by the Koussevitzky Foundation.

Sound Recordings

In 1974, a recording of the "Violin Concerto" featuring violinist Sanford Allen won the Koussevitzky International Recording Award. Cordero received this award from Madame Koussevitzky herself at a ceremony in Montreaux, Switzerland.

Publications

Cordero created his "Curso de Solfeo" in the early 1950s to improve the musicianship of students at the national conservatory of Panama. It was reprinted several times and adopted by music schools in other countries including Mexico, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico.
