The Jacobs School of Music is deeply saddened by the news of the death of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Harvey Phillips.  This blog will be developed over time to mark the life of this extraordinary musician, teacher, entrepreneur, and mentor.

    Conocí a Harvey en un cursillo en Valencia, España y luego pude saludarlo unas navidades en Chicago, EEUU. No conviví por tanto con él mucho tiempo, pero fue suficiente para apreciar que al margen de ser un magnifico profesor, Harvey era una buena persona. Siento mucho su pérdida pero siempre estará presente en mi recuerdo.

For as long as we live, Harvey shall remain in our hearts as one of the most important people we have ever been privileged to meet.
