Petar Jankovic Ensemble performance is broadcast on Performance Today (Tuesday, Oct 9)

For the third time in a year, a performance by the Petar Jankovic Ensemble, led by Jacobs faculty member, will be broadcast on American Public Media’s Performance Today – this time on Tuesday, October 9th, during the first hour of the show. The work featured is de Falla: La Vida Breve – Act II, No. 1, Danse espagnole, which was performed in Auer Hall on March 31, 2012.

The performance is described as follows on the show’s website: “It’s a very Spanish dance by a thoroughly Spanish composer. Manuel de Falla wrote this as part of an opera. The complete opera is rarely performed these days, but this dance has always been popular. We’ll hear a¬†creative arrangement for guitar and strings, from a concert in Bloomington, Indiana. In the next hour of PT from APM.¬†”
