FOR STUDENTS

MUSICIANS ARE ATHLETES

A musician’s body requires the same attention and care that elite athletes need to achieve the highest levels of consistency and quality in their performance. Classically Trained Fitness provides specific training for musicians to reduce repetitive stress and help prevent performance related injuries, by focusing on corrective posture, core strength and fitness.

Schedule (beginning Monday, August 26th)

Mondays in the MAC Green Room*
6:15 pm (Cardio/Yoga)

Tuesdays in the MAC Green Room*
5:15 – 6:05 pm (Strength, Conditioning and Flexibility with an emphasis on core development, corrective exercises and postural awareness)

Wednesdays in the MAC Green Room*
5:15 – 6:05 pm (ZUMBA!)

6:15 – 7:05 pm (Deep Muscle Relaxation through flexibility, stretching and yoga)

Thursdays in the MAC Green Room*
5:15 – 6:05 pm (Strength, Conditioning and Flexibility with an emphasis on core development, corrective exercises and postural awareness)

*Please note that during production weeks, we will meet in the MAC Mezzanine above the MAC lobby. You can access it by passing through the Greenroom to the elevator and once inside, press “M.”

Water bottle, towel, exercise apparel
Supportive, closed-toed shoes
Health forms (please fill them out before your first class)

We work on all aspects of fitness and wellness ranging from generalized exercises to specific corrective exercises and repetitive stress prevention. This is not a registered course, but a unique, new resource open to all JSoM students.
