Charles Conrad music director of Indiana Wind Symphony

Charles P. Conrad, BM’76, trumpet,┬áis the music director of the Indiana Wind Symphony, one of two resident ensembles of the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Ind. He is the founding conductor of the 75-piece concert band, which plays around a dozen concerts each year. He also maintains a large trumpet-teaching studio, and several of his students are music majors at IU this year.

School of Music graduate James Stokes, professor of trumpet at Appalachian State University, will be the guest soloist with the Indiana Wind Symphony in May. He will play William Harbinson’s Concerto for Trumpet and Wind Ensemble, which was written for him.
